The Watchdog

I went on a local cemetery romp about an hour before sundown yesterday with a couple of off-camera Nikon SB-910 flashes and my MagMod flash modifiers. For this shot, I intentionally underexposed the scene to give it a nighttime feel, then lit the dog grave ornament and the area behind it using 2 stacked MagGrids mounted on a single flash. I believe it was set at 1/2 power.

Cinderella’s Castle

I’m sharing a couple of iPhone 6 Plus photos I took of Cinderella’s Castle at Walt Disney World. I edited these using the new Enlight editing app, which I’m really enjoying learning to use.

So, for all you Disney fans out there, here’s the castle without a kerjillion people surrounding it!

Chief Gatorskin

“You are not just white, but a rainbow of colors. You are not just black, but golden. You are not just a nationality,
but a citizen of the world. You are not just for the right or left, but for what is right over the wrong. You are not just rich or poor, but always wealthy in the mind and heart. You are not perfect, but flawed. You are flawed, but you are just. You may just be human, but you are also a magnificent reflection of God.”

Rest Stop

“It is our wounds that create in us a desire to reach for miracles. The fulfillment of such miracles depends on whether we let our wounds pull us down or lift us up towards our dreams.”

Convergence

“…And perhaps you can sense, in some small twisting loop of your gut, the convergence of the wrong, of the right, and of the woefully misguided. If you do, then pay sharp attention to the moment you wake, and the moment you fall asleep…For maybe then you will know, without a shadow of a doubt, which is which.” —Neal Shusterman

Scarred

“That moment you realize that life will hurt more than your death. While existing, we’re forced to become acquainted with sadness. There’s no antibiotic for the ridding of distress, and no alleviation of these intervals of pain we must encounter. Behind our eyes are all these things: our stories, our dreams, our deficiencies, and our scars.”
