Gun Control?

“Those who have the command of the arms in a country are masters of the state, and have it in their power to make what revolutions they please.”

NOTE: Some of you won’t care for today’s photo just because of your opinion about the subject of the photograph. Please know that the only gun control issue I was concerned with here was its position and lighting.

I’ve been stuck in the house nursing a cold the last couple days, so when a friend asked if I’d photograph his .380 caliber Glock 42 handgun, I saw it as both an opportunity and a creative challenge. Aside from getting a good photo, my goal was to create a suitable product photography setup using things I already had around the house. Those things turned out to be a plastic storage bin, a piece of white plexiglass, a 40W light bulb, a shop-light fixture and a small flashlight. Oh, and a scrap of orange cloth to serve as a makeshift gel filter. What do you think of the result?
