Rocky’s Picture Horror Show

“Never try to outstubborn a cat.”
― Robert A. Heinlein, Time Enough for Love

Rocky has the hardship of having to put up with an owner who loves to take photos of him. [Yes, that would be me.] Over the few years I have had the joy of Rocky being in my life, he has learned to put up with the camera, though he does so with a certain amount of disdain.

I find that some of my best photos of him come when I have the forethought to point the camera in the opposite direction of that I want to shoot in. That’s because it’s most likely to be the direction he’ll go when he sees me lift the camera to my eye.

A catless writer is almost inconceivable. It’s a perverse taste, really, since it would be easier to write with a herd of buffalo in the room than even one cat; they make nests in the notes and bite the end of the pen and walk on the typewriter keys.

OK, OK… I’ll get off the animal kick I’ve subjected my readers to over the last week, but today was my volunteer day taking photos at the shelter. You’ve got to admit this little guy is the cutest.

Thanks for stopping by I Shutter At The Thought! (Please tell your friends by sharing using one or more of the buttons below.) Your comments and feedback help me improve my skills, so I hope you’ll let me know what you think of today’s photo.

A Few Catty Remarks

Cats are smarter than dogs. You can’t get eight cats to pull a sled through the snow.
— Jeff Valdez

A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way.
— Mark Twain

Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat.
— Robert Heinlein

Everything I know I learned from my cat:
When you’re hungry, eat.
When you’re tired, nap in a sunbeam.

When you go to the vet’s, pee on your owner.
— Gary Smith
