Angel Descending

And he saith unto him, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.”
— John 1:51

Today’s image is one I had fun a lot of fun with. It seemed as though she took control when her descent landed her in the Adobe® Lightroom™ “Develop” module. 🙂

As always, your shares, likes and comments are greatly appreciated!

Volkswagen de Cayey

“When I was growing up, a guy across the street had a Volkswagen Bug. He really wanted to make it into a Porsche. He spent all his spare money and time accessorizing this VW, making it look and sound loud. By the time he was done, he did not have a Porsche. He had a loud, ugly VW.”
Steve Jobs

If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ve learned previously that I like old Volkswagen Beetles. So when this sweet VW Beetle truck conversion came rolling down the street in Friday night’s Car Cruise event at Kissimmee’s Old Town, I took a photo. It wasn’t until later, when I was working with the photo, that I noticed the Puerto Rican flag hanging from the rear-view mirror contained the words, “SOY DE CAYEY.” I learned that this means, “I am from Cayey” — a small town in Puerto Rico. I became curious if that statement applied to the car, its driver, or both.

I had a little fun in post processing and gave this image a bit of a vintage look. I played around with color saturation levels using OnOne Software’s Perfect B&W from Perfect Photo Suite 7. In the real world, the car is actually the bright green you see on a can of Sprite. I like it better this way. And speaking of Perfect Photo: as a relatively new user, I have quickly become a big fan of this powerful and versatile editing suite. Its integration with Adobe Lightroom fits great in my workflow, too. I look forward to version 8, releasing later this month.
