Turning Tables, East and West

Common sense says that chairs and tables exist independently of whether anyone happens to perceive them or not.
— Charles D. Broad

When I went walking around Celebration Town Center on Sunday — Celebration, Florida being the affluent little town that Mickey Mouse built — I noticed that all the outdoor cafes were empty. Or nearly empty. So, while it was a great opportunity to use the stark afternoon light to my advantage and capture some contrasty images to convert to B&W, it also raised the question of where everybody was. Ignorant non-soccer-enthusiast that I am, it was only a block farther down the street that I found all the missing cafe patrons crowded into a sports bar watching Germany grab its cup.

Enjoy the photos. In my next post I’ll share another B&W image or two from my photo walk around Celebration Town Center.
